Call me an apple snob

The apples I prefer to eat tend to be a bit on the pricey side. Depending on the season, they can be over $1 a piece.

Feeling a little guilty for splurging, last week I caved in and bought the big bag of "generic" red delicious apples that was on sale.

They were a gorgeous ruby red, worthy of tempting Snow White.

But compared to my beloved Fujis, they are about as appetizing as chewing on wet cardboard.

I think I'll turn the rest of them into a cobbler, apologize to my taste buds, and head out to restock the fruit bin with something a little more appetizing.

From the name of this post, I thought you had converted. I know you to be a tablet PC snob. : )

Ha! Tricked you!

Although, I was a true Apple snob back in the early 90's... Just don't tell anyone. :)

Gosh, that post reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer had Jerry get him his fruit because he was banned from the store.

Do you want the plums with the red inside.

Oh, and I'll have a piece of cobbler.

Re: Apples
I so agree with this statement!
But I'm 47 years old, and when I
was young the Red Delicious Apples
were crisp and heavenly, and yes,
gourmet tasting!
What happened to them? They're terrible now, from ANY store I try them at.
The Red Delicious people should be ashamed.
