I know that once you're married, most things fall into that "communal property" category. And I'm more than willing to share. My favorite coffee mug? Go for it.
My toothbrush? That's another story.
Unfortunately, Joe doesn't seem to agree with me on this one. Somehow, "my" toothbrush always turns into "our" toothbrush.
I've tried all I can think of - pink for me, blue for him. Pink for him, blue for me. I'll buy an assortment of brushes and let him choose his first, then select mine.
But within a week, he's using mine.
So I'll grab a new one.
And within a week, he's using it.
I pointed this out to him (yet again) this morning, when he grabbed my toothbrush and was getting ready to load it up with some toothpaste.
"Hey - nice toothbrush, honey."
So, he stopped what he was doing, grabbed his brush in his other hand, and looked from his left hand (mine) to his right hand (his) and back to his left hand (mine).
He shrugged, said "THIS one" (mine), and put his back in the toothbrush holder.
*sigh*

That's cute in a way but I know if Caruthers did that I'd sock him.
Maybe buy him a sonicare for Christmas :) that might get him to claim it as his and his alone.k
LOL! One thing I always mess up is who's tooth brush is whose. This time, I have a red one and Hubs has a blue one. Even with my contacts out, I can be pretty sure I'll grab the right one!
eewwwwww...that's one of my idiosyncrisies, too...the thought of someone else using my toothbrush (or me using theirs) gives me the willies...
How did your parents night out go? Where did y'all finally get in to? Hope you had a ball!
Try borrowing his razor/shaver and use it on your legs in his presence.... see how well that "fly's" with him.
I hide a second pair of hair scissors because my husband thinks it's ok to cut just about anything with the first pair.
Yeah, the sharing of the toothbrush crosses the line. Even though, I know how much you love his mouth!:)
I've thought more than once about keeping my toothbrush stashed away in a drawer, but something tells me, he'd find it. And, he also prefers to use my girly razor on his face, so if I used the men's version I bought him, he'd probably thank me...
Our parents' night out was fun - it was one of the girl's birthdays, so that added to the festivities. We ended up at La Paz (which I highly recommend for groups - especially when the waiter didn't raise an eyebrow when we asked for 6 checks, and "oh, by the way, the couples aren't all seated next to each other, so I'm with him down there and she's on his check down there, and can you split the appetizers?" - seriously, ask for Miguel, he rocked). After dinner, we went to the Corner Pub, and were home in bed in time for Justin Timberlake on SNL.
I can remember back to the days when going out on Saturday night didn't begin until SNL ended. Barely, but I can still remember.
